Battles of the Clans
Brambleclaw mentions to the reader that Firestar has started holding training sessions in the trees, so ThunderClan cats can learn to move among the trees and come down on the enemy from above.Buzzardstar also mentions how his former leader, Cloudstar, summoned Firestar to rebuild the oldSkyClan, and Sparrowpaw excitedly tells Clovertail how Firestar related the famous sky-drop move to his sister's mentor, Sharpclaw.
He is also fleetingly mentioned in Tigerstar's tales of battles in the old forest; when he fetched back WindClan with Graystripe, when he arranged a chain of cats to keep the dog pack away from the camp, and when Tigerstar admits that Firestar showed great courage with BloodClan, and states that he'll need every whisker of it when they meet again.
The rogue, Nightwhisper, attempts to kill Firestar, who was then Fireheart, when Tigerclaw led his rogues on the ThunderClan camp. Fireheart fights back and gets away with Brackenfur's help.
Later, Graystripe relates a battle with the foxes, and mentions how Firestar and Sandstorm were away somewhere on a special mission.
The Ultimate Guide
On Bluestar's page, he is mentioned briefly to have been the leader after Bluestar, and that he had been the fire Bluestar had been searching for.
Firestar next appears on his own page.
Firestar used to be a kittypet, Rusty. He had great interest in the forest, the home of the Clan cats, similar to that of Jake. He later met Graypaw and Bluestar, who linked him to the prophecy: "Fire alone will save the Clan." It wasn't long before he became deputy after many moons of training. But Firestar was still accompanied by his rivalry with his enemy, Tigerclaw, whom had been banished from ThunderClan by Bluestar after Fireheart told the Clan of his treachery. He became close friends with Graypaw, Ravenpaw, and Spottedleaf. Following Spottedleaf's death, Firestar fell in love with Sandstorm, who had his kits, Leafkit and Squirrelkit, shortly after he became leader. He led the four Clans away from the forest to the lake when Twolegs began destroying it to make way for a new Thunderpath, with the guidance of StarClan. Firestar used his nine lives wisely, and lost each with his desire to protect ThunderClan, the most important one being his final life, which he lost to Tigerstar in the battle with the Dark Forest. Lightning signified his arrival to StarClan.
Firestar is brought up next on Spottedleaf's page as her former love interest. She never lost her faith in him, and watched over him until she lost her final life in the act of protecting Sandstorm during the battle with the Dark Forest. Firestar is mentioned on Graystripe's and Millie's page. He is said to have met Graypaw first, and had hunted prey to feed RiverClan with Graystripe. It is mentioned that it hurt Graystripe to leave him behind when he left to go to RiverClan after his mate, Silverstream's death.
Firestar appears on Sandstorm's page often. It is said that she and Dustpaw had tormented him as apprentices, but she and Firestar later fell in love. When Firestar wanted to drive BloodClan out of the forest, Sandstorm encouraged him to do so. She was equally matched with Firestar in many aspects, and had mothered Leafpool and Squirrelflight well. Though she would not have minded having more kits, she was aware that the Clan's demands pressured Firestar enough. He is mentioned twice on Brightheart's and Cloudtail's page. Cloudtail was the son of Firestar's kittypet sister, Princess. Cloudpaw struggled in the clan at first and returned to kittypet life until StarClan and Fireheart gave him a second chance.
On Yellowfang's page, he is mentioned to have been the one to find her on a patrol by himself. He had to care for her as punishment after breaking the warrior code. The two became close over the course of time. On Cinderpelt's page, it is mentioned that Cinderpelt was Fireheart's first apprentice. It is also mentioned on Squirrelflight’s page that she demonstrated the courage of her father.
He is mentioned twice on Brambleclaw’s page. The fact Firestar didn’t hesitate to trust Brambleclaw sent a clear signal to his clanmates that Brambleclaw should not be judged for Tigerstar’s actions. At last moment with the possibility of losing Firestar, Brambleclaw realized where his loyalties truly lay. It is mentioned on Ashfur’s page that although Ashfur may have not been close friends to Firestar, that didn’t stop him from being trustworthy, loyal to his clan and a valuable warrior in the thick of battle.
He later appears on Lionblaze's page. It is said that he had obtained the prophecy, "There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws," from Skywatcher. Once Lionblaze and his sister, Hollyleaf, and his brother, Jayfeather arrived, he knew they were the cats Skywatcher spoke of. It is mentioned on Hollyleaf’s page that Hollyleaf saw no point in telling Firestar about her accidentally killing Ashfur. He is mentioned twice on Dovewing’s page. Dovewing is kin to Firestar through her mother’s father, Cloudtail. Dovepaw turned out to have extra special senses, and Jayfeather told her to pretend that she saw the beavers in a dream, which Firestar would understand. It is also mentioned on Briarlight’s page that Firestar ordered an evacuation of ThunderClan camp when a loose-rooted beech tree started falling into the hollow.
Firestar appears during Brambleclaw's leader ceremony.
He greets Brambleclaw upon his arrival, and tells him not to grieve any longer. After telling him that he had been happy with ThunderClan and that he appreciated Brambleclaw's role as his former deputy, Firestar touches his muzzle to Brambleclaw's head and gives him his first life, the life with the courage to make the hardest decisions. After Brambleclaw receives his other lives, Firestar welcomes him as the new leader of ThunderClan, Bramblestar. Brambleclaw says he would be proud if he could lead the Clan as well as Firestar, and he responds by telling him to go, and that he'd always be with him.
On Tigerstar's page, it is said that he had wanted revenge on Firestar, and trained his sons, Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost, to kill him. Later on, he had his final battle with Firestar, but died in the process, with Firestar following shortly after.
On Tallstar's page, Tallstar is mentioned to have known Firestar was Jake's son ever since he first arrived to the forest, and that he held him in high esteem. He also appears on Onestar's page. Onewhisker befriended Fireheart and the young warrior brought WindClan home after being driven out by Brokenstar. Their friendship helped both clans as Onewhisker helped Fireheart persuade Tallstar not to attack ThunderClan, but when Onestar was made leader, this friendship was made a burden. Onestar was made to fight alongside Firestar once again when the Dark Forest rose to destroy the Clans. Firestar is mentioned to have come Onestar's help when Mudclaw started a rebellion. On Feathertail's page, Firestar is mentioned to have rescued Featherpaw and Stormpaw with Graystripe and Ravenpaw.
Firestar appears once again on Hawkfrost's page, who is said to have gotten Ashfur to send Firestar down to the lake in order to send him into a trap. Brambleclaw refused to kill Firestar, and instead killed his brother and rescued his leader, fulfilling the prophecy: "Before all is peaceful, blood will spill blood and the lake will run red."
He appears on SkyClan’s introductory page. Firestar was sent by Bluestar to rebuild the Clan, tracking down descendants and inviting cats to hold the warrior code, eventually working together to defeat the rats. On the page shared between Cloudstar and Skywatcher, he is said to have rebuilt SkyClan with Sandstorm, and that Skywatcher had been chosen to deliver the prophecy to him: "There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws."
Firestar also appears on Leafstar’s page. Leaf was a loner in the woods when Firestar first approached her and told her about SkyClan, his tales of StarClan and how cats work together to survive drew Leaf in. With the warrior name of Leafdapple, she learned fast. A vision of dappled leaves made Firestar realize that this is a sign that Leafdapple will be the new leader.
It is mentioned Stormfur's and Brook's page that Firestar invited them to his Clan after they were driven out of RiverClan. Firestar is mentioned twice on Echosong’s page. She was expecting Firestar and Sandstorm when they came looking for new warriors in the Twolegplace. Firestar knew that with Leafstar and Echosong, he was leaving SkyClan in the safest paws. It is also mentioned on Sharpclaw’s page that Firestar only needed a chance encounter to realize that Scratch had the SkyClan ability to jump.
He is mentioned on Ravenpaw's and Barley's page. Firepaw saved Ravenpaw from Tigerclaw by taking him far from the forest and to the farm where Barley lived. Firestar is last mentioned on Smudge's and Princess' page. Smudge had been a loyal friend to him despite his disapproval of his obsession with the forest. He had the same dreams from Cloudstar as Firestar had. Princess was Firestar's sister. She gave him her firstborn kit, Cloudkit, to live in his Clan. They both frequently thought of one another.
Firestar is also mentioned on Scourge's and Bone's page. Scourge is Firestar's half-brother. In a ferocious battle, Scouge struck Firestar with the first deadly blow, but Firestar has been given nine lives by StarClan and recovered to strike back. Scourge died at Firestar's paws. He is mentioned twice on Sol's page. Leafpool saw no importance in Sol's warning of darkness, so Firestar sent him away. When Sol is taken back to ThunderClan to answer for Ashfur's murder, the other Clan leader were furious that Firestar brought the troublesome cat back. He is last mentioned on Rock's page. Rock watched as the prophecy of the three, and Firestar, came true.
In the Short Stories and Plays
After Sunset: The Right Choice?
Brightheart watches Firestar while he sleeps after being caught in a fox trap. His neck is bruised, and he is not able to eat or speak.
Beyond the Code: Brightspirit's Mercy
Firestar appears at the first Gathering. He is reluctant to reveal that ThunderClan has plenty of prey during leaf-bare whilst the rest of the Clans are starving, in case they try to steal prey from ThunderClan's territory. When he doesn't talk much, Blackstar asks if he is too scared to admit that his Clan is going hungry, when it is really the opposite.
The Elders' Concern
When the elders - Halftail, Patchpelt, Dappletail, and Smallear - talk about the late appointment of Firestar (then Fireheart) as the new deputy. Patchpelt, Dappletail, and Smallear believe it is a sign that ThunderClan is breaking up, since the naming ceremony is late and Fireheart is a former kittypet. Patchpelt assures the elders that Fireheart isn't the rightful deputy, and Dappletail and Smallear agree. Halftail watches in dismay as they give up faith in Bluestar and Fireheart.
Ultimate Leader Election: Firestar
Firestar first finds two injured RiverClan warriors, Pouncetail and Otterheart, on his territory, coming from the ShadowClan border. He takes them back to his camp to be nursed by Leafpool.
Later, he calls a special Gathering before the full moon to discuss the troubles among the Clans: scarce prey, fighting along the borders, and the like. When the Clans decide they need to unite for a short time to survive, after the casting of stones as suggested by Jayfeather, he is elected as the leader for the united Clans for that time.
In the Novellas
Tigerclaw's Fury
Fireheart is mentioned in the start, growling defiance at the defeated Tigerclaw as he is being exiled from his clan, Tigerclaw silently scorns the young warrior as he smells the fear scent off of him.
Later on when Tigerclaw attacks Mousefur's patrol, he is attacked by Fireheart. Tigerclaw tries to defeat the ThunderClan deputy, but he was losing strength. Tigerclaw finally flees along with his battlemates.
When the fire strikes ThunderClan, Fireheart and Yellowfang volunteer to go back and save the elders and Bramblekit. Tigerclaw disbelivingly wonders if the life of his son depended on an eldery medicine cat and a kittypet, and follows Fireheaert.
Tigerclaw soon hears Bramblekit's screams, and he runs over to the noise, but Fireheart had beat Tigerclaw to it and leaps up the tree, Tigerclaw is terrifoed for his son, but Fireheart successfully saves Tigerclaw's son. Tigerclaw then glowers at the deputy, vowing to kill him even though he saved his son.

Hollyleaf's Story
Firestar does not formally appear in Hollyleaf's Story but is listed in the allegiances.
He is mentioned by Hollyleaf, when Fallen Leaves asks if she remembers what happens when her and her siblings, Lionblaze and Jayfeather, went to rescue the missing WindClan kits. Hollyleaf remembers while her, her littermates and two other WindClan cats, Heathertail and Breezepelt, were looking for the WindClan kits, he and Onestar, WindClan's leader, were about to wage war on one another.
Firestar is also mentioned very briefly multiple other times throughout the book, when Hollyleaf is recalling her time in ThunderClan.
Mistystar's Omen
Firestar is first mentioned when Mistystar remembers him saving Featherpaw, Stormpaw, and herself from BloodClan.
Firestar appears briefly when Mistystar visits ThunderClan's camp to announce the death of Leopardstar and her own ascension to leader of RiverClan. Firestar talks to her briefly, and Mistystar notes that he becomes more relaxed, like he was back when he was a warrior. Mistystar confides in him that three of her elders had passed away and Firestar is sympathetic to her loss.

Quotes
Firepaw: "But that seems foolish! Why can't the Clans work together and share the hunting grounds, instead of fighting each other?"
Lionheart: "You speak from your heart, young Firepaw. This will make you a stronger warrior one day."
Tigerclaw: "Or it might make him give in to kittypet weakness right at the moment of attack."
—Firepaw suggesting a new way for the Clans Into the Wild, page 60
"Graystripe, whatever you decide to do, I will always be your friend."
—Fireheart telling Graystripe about their friendship Fire and Ice, page 317
"Fire will save the Clan...you never understood, did you? Not even when I gave you your apprentice name, Firepaw. And I doubted it myself, when fire raged through our camp. Yet I see the truth now. Fireheart, you are the fire who will save ThunderClan. You will be a great leader. One of the greatest the forest has ever known. You will have the warmth of fire to protect your Clan and the fierceness of fire to defend it. You will be Firestar, the light of ThunderClan."
—Bluestar explaining the prophecy she received from Spottedleaf to Fireheart A Dangerous Path, page 311
"I love you, Sandstorm. You'll never be second-best for me. My love belongs here and now, in the life we share-and it will last for all moons to come, I promise."
—Firestar to Sandstorm Firestar's Quest, pages 401-402
"It was obvious to me that Firestar was Jake's son the moment I laid eyes on him. The bold young kittypet with the flame-colored pelt and the leaf-green eyes ... he was Jake's spitting image. It never mattered to me that Firestar belonged to another Clan. I've always watched out for him. Supported him. He's been like a son of my own. Out of all the cats in the Clans, I will miss Firestar the most."
—Tallstar's thoughts over Firestar Tallstar's Revenge, page 509
Firestar: "We should stay closer together. Travel like a single Clan."
Leopardstar: "And who will give the orders? You?"
Firestar: "That's not important. I only meant it would be less dangerous if we stick together."
Blackstar: "You have no idea where we're going. We have to trust the cats who've made this journey already, and each Clan has one of those. We can travel separately."
Firestar: "But you fell behind just now, RiverClan too. We must stick closer together, at least while we're near Twolegs."
Blackstar: "Closer together, yes. But each Clan should follow its own leader's orders."
—Firestar suggesting to be together while on The Great Journey to Leopardstar and Blackstar Dawn, page 238
Graystripe: "So you didn't wait for me."
Firestar: "I couldn't."
Graystripe: "You could not risk the Clan by keeping them in the forest."
Firestar: "If it had only been my life at stake, I would have waited."
—Graystripe's return The Sight, page 144
"Surely it is our struggle against hardship that makes us true warriors. You think fresh blood in the Clans will weaken us? A life without hardship will weaken us more."
—Firestar to Blackstar at the Gathering The Sight, page 335
Firestar: "I know how you feel, Sandstorm. But that's not the best way to deal with this. I want to avoid bloodshed, if we can."
Sandstorm: "They're stealing our food!"
Firestar: "And we're not going to let them get away with it. But there's no point rushing into battle before we know what's going on."
Sandstorm: "Don't you fight anyone anymore?"
Firestar: "I'll fight if I have to! But I won't spill blood if reason can solve this problem."
—Firestar and Sandstorm arguing Eclipse, page 92
"Strength doesn't have to be proved."
—Firestar to Thornclaw in a Clan meeting Fading Echoes, page 97
"We can't go on helping the Tribe. StarClan knows, I have a lot of sympathy for them, but they have their life and we have ours."
—Firestar telling Jayfeather that the Tribe is different from the Clans Sign of the Moon, page 86
"I know. But make sure you're getting enough prey and rest, and remember...the final responsibility is mine. You don't hold the whole Clan in your paws. I just need you to do what you can. I'll take care of the rest."
—Firestar to Dovewing The Last Hope, page 55
Sandstorm: "Firestar. This is your last life. You can't risk losing it now. Your Clan needs you."
Firestar: "They need me to fight."
Sandstorm: "But what will they do if you're killed?"
Firestar: "They'll fight harder. My warriors have only one life to lose and they are willing to give it up for their Clanmates. I'm no different. My place is beside them."
—Firestar's resolve to fight on his last life The Last Hope, pages 259-260
"He gave his life to save the thing that mattered most to him: his Clanmates. He truly has the power of the stars in his paws now. You will see him again, when it is time."
—Jayfeather to Dovewing after Firestar's death The Last Hope, page 324
"A prophecy? My first prophecy! I am a true StarClan cat!""
